From the many remarkable structures of Mumbai The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is having its own unique presence.

The purpose of making such a huge structure was the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria hence it was at first known as The Victoria Terminus.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

This remarkable building is spread across the area of 2.85 hectare.

The building inculcates the architectural styles of Victorian Italianate gothic revival and Hindu palaces.

Timeless beautiful structures of stone dome, turrets, pointed arches, eccentric ground plan are close to the Indian palaces whilst the main architectural structure is of the gothic style. 

This marvelous structure is a true mix of the two cultures.

The building have Gothic designs from the late medieval Italian models whilst themes from Indian traditional architecture.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus was built by the chief architect F.W Stevens and took 10 long years of patience to create this legendary building.
